2025 BMW M5 Revealed! Discover What’s New – All Details Inside! The automotive world is gearing up for an exciting summer as BMW prepares to showcase its latest powerhouse, the new BMW M5, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2024. This new incarnation of the famous high-performance sedan offers not just imposing power and emotionally compelling performance, but also a unique interpretation of the M design ethos that distinguishes it from the BMW 5 Series Sedan.
Exterior and interior design: athletic and luxurious.
The new BMW M5 features a design that mixes agility with puristic elegance. Prominent wheel arches, side skirt extensions, and a sculptural front apron highlight its dynamic qualities, while a new engraved “M5” emblem in the Hofmeister kink adds a unique touch. A significant number of body-colored surfaces adds to its sleek, puristic appearance.
Inside, the luxury interior is enhanced with M-specific elements, resulting in an environment that combines comfort and performance. The new flat-bottomed M leather steering wheel, M multifunction seats, and BMW Curved Display with M-specific material create a cockpit geared toward driving aficionados. Merino leather trim, four-zone air conditioning, and the Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System are standard features that ensure a premium experience for all occupants.
M Hybrid System: Power and Efficiency Combined
The revolutionary M HYBRID propulsion technology powers the new BMW M5. This model combines a 4.4-litre V8 engine with an electric motor built into the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission. The V8 engine produces 430 kW/585 horsepower and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque, while the electric motor generates an additional 145 kW/197 hp and up to 450 Nm (332 lb-ft). Together, they produce a system that provides quick power and exceptional efficiency.
In all-electric mode, the M5 can attain speeds of up to 140 km/h (87 mph) and has the best electric range in its class at 67-69 kilometers (42-43 miles) in the WLTP cycle. The vehicle’s Combined Charging Unit supports AC charging up to 7.4 kW, making it convenient to recharge.
Performance and Handling: Unmatched Dynamics
The new BMW M5 is designed to provide unrivalled transverse and longitudinal performance. The M xDrive all-wheel-drive system with a rear-biased layout, particularly in 4WD Sport mode, provides excellent traction and agility. For purists, a 2WD mode is offered, delivering power solely to the rear wheels for a more traditional driving feel.
The chassis technology, which includes a double-wishbone front axle and a five-link rear axle, has been expertly calibrated to match the M HYBRID system’s performance capabilities. Adaptive M suspension with electronically controlled dampers and Integral Active Steering improve handling, making the M5 capable of both everyday comfort and track-ready performance.
Advanced Technology and Assistance Systems.
The new BMW M5 comes with a full range of driver aid features. Front collision warning, lane departure warning, and speed limit information are all standard features. The optional Driving Assistant Professional package includes Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Steering and Lane Control Assistant, and more.
Parking is made easier with the standard Parking Assistant, which includes Reversing Assistant, while the optional Parking Assistant Professional allows for automated parking and maneuvering up to 200 meters, controlled by a smartphone.
Customizable Driving Experience.
The control panel on the center console allows drivers to tailor their experience by modifying settings for the powertrain system, chassis, steering, and braking. The new M Hybrid button lets you to switch between HYBRID, ELECTRIC, and eCONTROL modes, which optimizes the interaction between the combustion engine and electric motor.
Launch and availability.
The next BMW M5 will go into production at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing in July 2024, with a global market launch starting in November 2024. North America and Europe, particularly the United States, will be significant markets for this high-performance sedan.
BMW aficionados and driving enthusiasts alike will be eagerly awaiting the debut of the new BMW M5, which promises to set new standards in performance, elegance, and hybrid technology. Stay tuned for more details from the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where this exciting new model will make its global debut.
