Hero MotoCorp Unveils Limited-Edition Centennial Motorcycle
Hero MotoCorp, India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, has revealed the Centennial, a unique limited-edition motorcycle honoring its founder, Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal, on his 101st birthday. This premium model was unveiled at the Hero World 2024 event and is poised to revolutionize luxury and exclusivity in the motorcycle industry.
Features & Design that are Unique
The Hero Centennial is based on the Karizma XMR platform but includes various upgrades that increase its attractiveness. Each Centennial motorcycle is limited to 100 units and will be auctioned off exclusively to Hero’s employees, colleagues, business partners, and stakeholders. The revenues from these auctions will go towards a variety of social welfare activities, demonstrating Hero MotoCorp’s dedication to community development.
Engine & Performance
The Centennial is powered by a 210cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that is identical to the one found in the Karizma XMR. This engine produces strong performance statistics of 25.3hp and 20Nm of torque. What distinguishes the Centennial is its Akrapovic carbon fibre and titanium exhaust system, which improves both performance and appearance.
Excellent Build and Components
The Centennial is lightweight, weighing 158kg, which is 5.5kg less than the original Karizma XMR. Its chassis and engine are true to the Karizma tradition, providing a balance of agility and stability on the road. The motorcycle’s carbon fiber body panels, as well as machined and anodized components like the handlebar, handlebar mount, triple clamp, and footpegs, show its exceptional craftsmanship.
Suspension and Handling
The Centennial has sophisticated suspension components to ensure good handling. It has 43mm upside-down forks with compression and rebound adjustability up front, and a fully adjustable, gas-charged Wilbers monoshock at the back. These components offer exceptional comfort and precise handling, catering to both spirited riding and everyday use.
Exclusive Design Elements.
The Hero Centennial’s single-seat design, complete with a carbon fibre pillion seat cowl, adds to its rarity. The motorcycle’s side covers include machined aluminum numbered badging, emphasizing its limited production and originality.
Availability and Delivery
Hero MotoCorp intends to begin sales of the Centennial motorcycles in September 2024. The limited availability and auction-only sales method ensure that each owner obtains a truly one-of-a-kind and collectible motorbike, rooted in history and cutting-edge innovation.
