After transitioning from actor to politician, Kangana Ranaut made a stunning début in the Lok Sabha Election of 2024 by winning the Mandi seat. With 5,37,022 votes, she demonstrated a strong level of support from the Mandi community. On social media, Kangana thanked everyone for their love and trust, writing, “Heartfelt appreciation to all the people of Mandi… This is a win for all of you; it’s a win for your faith in the BJP and Prime Minister Modi; it’s a win for Sanatan and the honor of Mandi.
But Kangana had a bad experience at the Chandigarh airport a few days after winning. She was seen being violently abused by a female CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) officer in a widely shared video. The event took place at approximately 3:30 pm when Kangana was heading to Delhi.
Upon reaching Delhi, Kangana shared her first reaction through a video. She stated, “Firstly, I am safe and perfectly fine. What happened at Chandigarh airport occurred during the security check. After I finished the check, a CISF personnel in another cabin waited for me to pass by her. She then came towards me and hit me on my face. She also abused me. When I asked her why she did this, she said she supported the farmer’s protest. My concern is about the growing terrorism in Punjab, how do we handle that?”
Reports identified the CISF officer involved as Kulwinder Kaur. She was reportedly upset with Kangana for her comments against the farmers’ movement. Kangana has demanded that action be taken against the officer, calling for her removal.
This incident has raised concerns about security and the increasing tension in Punjab.
