Ahmedabad: A significant fire erupted in an industrial shed in the Danilimda area of Ahmedabad early this morning, prompting a swift response from the local fire service. The blaze, which began around 9 am, affected a facility housing ten godowns, leading to extensive firefighting operations.

Om Jadeja, Divisional Fire Officer of the Ahmedabad Fire Service, provided details on the situation. “Around 9 am, a fire broke out in an industrial shed which houses 10 godowns in the Danilimda area. 18 fire engines and a robot van have been called to gain entry to carry out firefighting operations,” Jadeja stated.

In response to the fire, authorities evacuated nearby commercial and residential areas as a precautionary measure. This prompt action ensured the safety of residents and workers in the vicinity. Jadeja also confirmed that, according to the shed owner, no laborers were reported missing, alleviating initial fears of casualties.

The deployment of 18 fire engines and a specialized robot van highlights the scale of the firefighting efforts. The use of advanced equipment, such as the robot van, was crucial in gaining entry and effectively combating the blaze in the challenging industrial environment.

As firefighters continue their efforts to control and extinguish the fire, local authorities are working to ensure the safety and security of the evacuated areas. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and an investigation is expected to follow once the situation is under control.
