BMW has unveiled the fourth version of its famous mid-size Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV), the new BMW X3, which has substantial improvements in design, efficiency, and performance. The new X3 is prepared to continue its success story in the premium mid-size sector, thanks to its sturdy and sporty design, an improved interior, and a range of powerful and efficient powertrains.

Bold new design and enhanced dimensions.

The new BMW X3 sports a revolutionary design language that emphasizes athletic proportions and sophisticated aesthetics. The SAV is now 34 millimeters longer, 29 millimeters broader, and 25 millimeters lower than its predecessor, resulting in a more powerful and sporting appearance. The huge kidney grille, which now includes optional Iconic Glow contour lighting, dominates the front, while the rear is distinguished by noticeably flared wheel arches and futuristic T-shaped rear lights.

Interior Upgrades and Premium Features

Inside, the new X3 combines spaciousness with high-quality materials and cutting-edge technology. The BMW Curved Display and BMW Interaction Bar are featured in the cockpit, as well as updated steering wheels and gear selections. Standard features include electrically adjustable and heated sport seats, an increased baggage capacity, and various upholstery options, including sustainable materials like Econeer.

Powertrain Options: Efficiency Meets Performance.

BMW offers a variety of engine options for the new X3, including petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid. The highlight is the new BMW X3 30e xDrive plug-in hybrid, which has an electric range of 81-90 kilometers (50-56 miles) in the WLTP cycle owing to the latest-generation BMW eDrive technology. The plug-in hybrid combines a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor to produce up to 299 horsepower.

The top-of-the-line BMW X3 M50 xDrive has a powerful 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with 48V mild hybrid technology, which produces 398 horsepower and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. All variants include an eight-speed Steptronic transmission and BMW xDrive all-wheel drive as standard.

Advanced technology and semi-autonomous driving

The 2018 BMW X3 comes with BMW’s latest iDrive technology, which is based on BMW Operating technology 9. This incorporates QuickSelect for easy control and a customized list of digital services. The base and optional driver assistance systems have been greatly increased, including front collision warning, lane departure warning, and the Driving Assistant package.

The optional Parking Assistant Professional allows you to park remotely using your smartphone. The new X3 also provides more comfort and convenience, including three-zone automated climate control, acoustic glazing, and a wireless charging tray.

Market Launch and Production

The new BMW X3 will be manufactured in BMW Group Plants Spartanburg in the United States and Rosslyn in South Africa, with a focus on resource conservation and circularity. The market launch will commence in Europe and the United States in the fourth quarter of 2024, followed by other regions in January 2025.

Conclusion

The fourth generation BMW X3 redefines the premium mid-size SAV sector with its dynamic design, advanced technology, and versatile powertrains. Whether for daily use, recreational activities, or lengthy travels, the new BMW X3 delivers an extraordinary driving experience.
