Porsche, the iconic German automaker, has made a significant entry into the Indian market with the launch of the Porsche 911 GTS T-Hybrid, priced at Rs 2.75 crore.
The new 911 line-up, part of the 992.2 generation, is now available in India with two variants. The base model, the Carrera, starts at Rs 1.99 crore, while the Carrera 4 GTS is priced at Rs 2.75 crore (ex-showroom). Deliveries for the Carrera are expected to begin by the end of the year. This update represents a significant overhaul of the current 992 generation rather than a completely new model.
The standout feature of the 992.2 is the hybrid powertrain in the GTS model. The traditional flat-six engine now has a 3.6-liter displacement, up from 3.0 liters, and includes an e-turbo system to reduce turbo lag. Additionally, the GTS has an electric motor integrated into its eight-speed PDK gearbox, powered by a 1.9kWh battery pack located at the front. This system does not offer an electric-only drive mode but delivers a combined output of 534bhp and 610Nm of torque. The standard Carrera retains its 3.0-liter flat-six engine but benefits from a new intercooler and turbochargers, boosting its power to 390bhp and 450Nm of torque.
Both variants come with subtle visual updates, such as redesigned headlamps, modified bumpers, repositioned exhaust tips, and a revamped driver’s display with a push-button start, a first for the 911. The GTS also features active flaps on the front bumper to enhance aerodynamics and performance.
With the updated 911 models debuting globally and quickly arriving in India, enthusiasts can expect the full range to be available soon after their international launch. Porsche continues to set new standards in luxury and performance with its latest offerings.
